Meeting Notes from January 4, 2024

President Justin Raithel opened the meeting by leading the Pledge of Allegiance.  Bob Mange gave the Invocation.

Secretary Jim Padgett introduced guests.  He told us that Candy Miller bought the bar in honor of Past President Bob Miller's birthday this month.  For our new members, Bob was a member of our club for about 35 years. He passed away in 2011.  Bob was very active in the club and served as mentor to several presidents.

President Justin read a thank you letter from Powerhouse Ministries for all the work that we did for them.  He also announced that we are sponsoring a Dragon Boat Festival fund-raiser for Powerhouse Ministries on April 6, 2024. Teams of 16 paddlers and one drummer compete, racing for the fastest time on Lake Natoma. Registration is $55 per person with a commitment to raise $300. Our club is the finish line sponsor. We will need volunteers who don't want to row to work the finish line booth.

President Justin inducted a new member, Sam Holly, whose vocation is commercial insurance.

Bob Mange said we have received 51 applications this year for teacher grants totaling $22,000.  The board will look at funding $7,500. If any Rotarian would like to sponsor a grant, talk to President Justin.

Put on your calendar that our next special club event will be February 29, 2024.

We supported 29 families through Santa's Helper this year.

Fines were levied by Jason Brinitzer.
