Meeting Notes from July 18, 2024

The meeting of July 18 was a Club Assembly. The meeting was opened by President Ramesh Dontha leading the Pledge of Allegiance. Bob Mange gave the Invocation.

As President Ramesh had several family and friend guests at the meeting, he introduced them and visiting Rotarians. Co-Presidents Connie and Chuck Thompson of the Rotary Club of Historic Folsom, Lisa Ferro, President of the Rotary Club of Folsom Lake, and Lindsay Brooke Olson, President of Folsom Rotary Annes attended the meeting. Former members Garry Parlier and Rob Ross were also guests at the meeting.

Olga Garton asked members to support the Folsom Cordova Unified School District School Supplies Drive. Donations deadline is July 24.

Henry Sundermier reminded the members of the Powerhouse Ministries Fundraiser with Have Mercy Band playing at Crawdad's on the Lake on August 24, 2024.

President Ramesh shared the following slide about Paul Harris Fellow Recognitions.

President Ramesh then presented Paul Harris Fellows from the club to Mr. Subbanna Chenna and Mrs. Usha Chenna. Paul Harris Pins were pinned on them by Vicki Bencken and John Messner. Mr. and Mrs. Chenna donated approximately $100,000 to the Folsom Rotary Foundation a few years ago.

Paul Bonaventure announced that the net profit from the Fireworks Booth is $25,635.

Each Club Executive or Director presented their plans for the 2024/2025 Rotary year and/or the status of the club concerning their position. The slides presented by each executive are included in the photo album after each individual. Before Special Events Chair Jason Brinitzer gave his presentation, he levied a few fines.

Between slide presentations, Nicole Josh sang two songs, one song about India and the second a contemporary American song. Also, between presentations, President Ramesh gave Past President Justin Raithel his new "Past President" badge.

President Ramesh closed the meeting with a few words as to why he joined Rotary and what being a Rotarian has meant to him since he joined. In closing, he asked members to Show Up, Stand Up, and Speak Up for Each Other.

Editor's Comment: In the 37 years that I have been in the Rotary Club of Folsom, this club assembly was the most well attended and entertaining that I have been to. Thanks to all our visitors and Ramesh's family for making this a "Bollywood" Club Assembly.
