Greenhouse Project at Black Miners Bar

On Saturday, October 19, Rotarians from our club, the Rotary Club of Historic Folsom, and the Rotary Club of Folsom Lake completed the greenhouse at the Lake Natoma Nursery and Gardens at Black Miners Bar. The final work on the greenhouse was the installation of the windows at the top of the greenhouse. The installation of the windows started on October 5 but because of 100 degree heat that day, the work party ended early.

Photos of the October 5th and 19th work parties can be viewed here. This project took several days to complete and the previous work parties can be viewed at
  1. Workday at Lake Natomas Nursery
  2. Green House at Black Miners Bar.
  3. Second Phase of Greenhouse Construction.
  4. Green House Project August 24.
The purpose of the nursery is to grow healthy native plants needed for the park's eco-restoration projects. The purpose of the interpretive gardens is to offer park visitors an opportunity to enjoy and learn about native plants and the habitats they provide.
