Meeting Notes from May 2, 2024
President Justin Raithel opened the meeting by leading the Pledge of Allegiance. Bob Mange gave the Invocation.
Secretary Jim Padgett introduced visiting Rotarians and guests. One of our guests was Kerry Edwards, our waitress, joining us for dinner first time since her knee surgery. She is doing well with her new knee. We had a great turnout which was probably for the whiskey tasting program.
President Justin said that both projects for Saturday, May 4 were cancelled due to a rainy forecast. These projects will probably be on May 11.
President Justin gave us an update on John Messner. On Monday, April 29, John was hanging plants and putting in a drip system on the cover over his koi pond. He slipped on a rock and went into the pond breaking 4 ribs in the process. He also lacerated his spleen. He was in the hospital until May 2 and is recovering now at home.
Matt Sundermier told the members to sign up this week or we will have to postpone the camping trip on June 7 to June 9. Only 5 members have registered as of Sunday, May 5.
Henry Sundermier announced that our club is sponsoring concerts at Palladio this year starting Friday, June 7. For a list of the dates and bands, go to
Friday Night Live in the Piazza.
Jim Ortega levied fines.
John Baciocco introduced our speaker, Chris Dooley. Chris is with Frey Ranch Whiskey and brought with him for us to taste, Frey Ranch Straight Rye Whiskey and Frey Ranch Straight Bourbon Whiskey. Chris talked about distilling whiskies in the United States and the history of Frey Ranch that dates back to 1854.
